Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) Bhubaneswar has 7 Engineering departments for B.Tech under Undergraduate programs and also offers other lateral courses in engineering. At the PG level, the college offers M.Tech,the various courses include MBBS, BCA, MBA, MCA and MDS. In addition to it, the University also offers Ph.D courses in selected disciplines.

  • Admission to all courses in the First Year level are through a National level Common Admission Test (SAAT) conducted by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University)
  • For B.Tech admission through SAAT exam , it reserves 75% of the State quota seats.
  • Besides the SAAT exam specified percentage of students are admitted to a program through JEE (Mains)/ other State Level/ National Level Examination as approved by Academics Council and Board Of Management
  • 15% and 7.5% seats in all programs are reserved respectively for candidates belonging to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe.
  • 3% seats are reserved for physically disabled (PH) candidates for admission to engineering / technology / MBA / MCA / HMCT / Pharmacy / Nursing / Biotechnology courses.
  • 30% of seats under each category for all the programs are reserved for women candidates.
  • Admission to M.Tech is done on the basis of GATE score.
  • Diploma Courses in Engineering are also offered for candidates who have passed 10th with Science subjects and the candidates need to take the SAAT exam.
  • Admission to medical courses MBBS and BDS are through NEET examination conducted by CBSE.
  • For Doctoral Programs, admission shall be based on the marks secured in the Written Test and Interview, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the rules of reservation.

Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) Bhubaneshwar in Odhisa was established in 1996. This is the Engineering School of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (formerly SOA University or SIksha 'O' Anusandhan). 

The Faculty of the Medical Sciences is placed at 20th by NIRF and Faculty of Engineering and Technology is placed at 32nd rank by NIRF and Govt of India.

B.Tech Eligibility

The basic eligibility for admission to B.Tech program is 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 

Candidates seeking admission to Lateral Entry B.Tech course should have at least 40% marks in class 10 with a diploma in Engineering.

B.Tech Selection Criteria

  • Admission to 15% Management quota seats are based on any of JEE Main or PET score. Both Odisha domicile and other state quota candidates are eligible for admission.
  • In 10% quota, only other State domicile candidates are eligible for admission. Seats in this quota will be filled on the basis of merit of JEE Main.
  • PET exam is objective in nature and consists of 50 questions from each Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The duration of exam is 3 hours.
